3. Gulgong Holtermann Museum of solar lighting

Gulgong Holtermann Museum is a community project and a museum space located in gold rush town of Gulgong, New South Wales. Two of the town's earliest buildings, also featured on Australian ten-dollar note (see The Greatest Wonder) renovated and extended, house an interactive educational and tourist facility based on the UNESCO listed Holtermann Collection - photographs taken for Bernhardt Holtermann during the "roaring days" in the 1870s.

Public launch of the museum took place on 22 January 2015. Designed by architect Jiri Lev, the museum space is formed by a series of three interconnected multi-functional pavilions built behind the restored heritage street-front buildings. The first is used as an extension of the exhibition space and for temporary exhibits, the second an event space and the third a workshop space. The museum design employs passive solar heating and natural cooling and lighting.

The museum, also supported by NSW Regional Cultural Fund, was visited by New South Wales premier Gladys Berejiklian and minister Troy Grant on 2 July 2018.

Gulgong Holtermann Museum officially opened on 26 October 2019.

4. Biography of solar lighting

He was born in Villada, and began his artistic education at the newly-established "Escuela Municipal de Dibujo de Palencia", which ultimately produced many well-known Spanish artists, and continued at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, where he studied under Federico de Madrazo. In 1855, his painting "The Resurrection of Lazarus" won him a fellowship to study in Rome. He also stayed in Naples, Milan and Venice. His fellowship was extended in 1861, so he could continue his education in Paris, where he participated in the exposition of 1862 with his work "The Oath of the Cortes of Cdiz", which is currently on display in the Congress of Deputies. He was also awarded medals at the National Exhibitions of 1860 and 1864.

He became the first Director of the newly established "Academia de Espaa en Roma" in January 1881. That same year, one of his best-known works, the "Bell of Huesca", failed to receive more than honorable mention at the Exhibition, which prompted him to resign his position as Director. Ironically, the following year, he was named a member of the jury that judged candidates applying for the fellowship to Rome. In 1885, he became a member of the San Fernando Academy. He died the following year in Madrid.

History paintings were his primary focus, although he also did portraits of many notable people, including Baldomero Espartero, Isabel II, Alfonso XII and Emilio Castelar y Ripoll. He drew his friend Gustavo Adolfo Bcquer lying on his deathbed, within a half-hour of Bcquer's death. Coincidentally, this occurred at the same time as a total solar eclipse, and the lighting effects the eclipse produced are represented in the final engraving.

His brother was the Spanish-Argentine businessman and economic advisor, Carlos Casado del Alisal.

The average annual temperature in the neighborhood is 3C (27F).

The region is one of mountains that rise high above their surroundings, with rocky escarpments.

The network of lakes and rivers is enclosed in narrow valleys.

The Fort ancienne du Lac-Cacaoui (Lake Cacaoui Old Growth Forest), an exceptional forest ecosystem occupies part of the southern shore of the lake.

The forest contains small islands of a few hectares of Picea glauca (white spruce) up to 33 metres (108ft) high within stands of Picea mariana (black spruce).

The spruce is dominated by Abies balsamea (balsam fir), which is well adapted to the cold and damp climate.

The 0.45 square kilometres (0.17sqmi) area of old-growth forest was designated IUCN Management Category III at a national level in 2008.

It is managed by the Ministre des Forts, de la Faune et des Parcs.

(This saves you from needing batteries in the setup as exess power is simply fed back into the power grid saving you money by turning the meter backwards)2. Need help starting a solar lighting system?Both the golf cart batteries and the marine batteries are deep discharge lead acid batteries. They may be liquid, gel, active glass matrix or valved, they may be manual or sealed. There are not particularly efficient but they are inexpensive as batteries go and simple to work with. They are the same batteries used in computer UPS systems. You may want to check with the major lead acid battery makers to get some good reconditioned batteries especially since those huge banks of batteries used in UPS systems are supposed to be swapped out for reconditioning after each power outage and every two years. With Solar Power electrification, SSCF ensures access to solar energy with uninterrupted healthcare facilities in these Schools and PHCs catering to over 300 students and 4000 patients monthly. Further, a 100-litre fridge has been provided in the PHCs to store the life-saving drugs. In the training session, the School and PHC staff (the assigned person for care and maintenance of the solar lighting system) were instructed with the help of a presentation, on how to clean the solar panels, maintain the battery and the inverter. Printed material/pamphlets were also provided that explained the care and maintenance of the solar lighting system. Along with this the do's and do not s regarding the systems were provided to the Schools and PHCs. Dr Atul Negi from the primary health care centre (PHC) of Gaindkhal district in Yamkeshwar, Uttarakhand said, "It's been over 10 years that we have the building for our primary health centre but getting electricity has been a challenge ever since. Refrigerating vaccines like that of anti-tetanus and anti-venom which needs to be administered within 24 hours of infection is a basic necessity which despite the availability of the centre and a qualified doctor was not feasible because of the absence of electricity."
